Welcome to the 2023 Workplace Well-being Leadership Summit! We look forward to connecting, learning and growing alongside you throughout the week. The information below will assist you in navigating this week’s activities.

Hotel accommodations

You are staying at the Marriott Minneapolis Southwest, not far from the Optum campus. Check-in is at 4:00pm on Tuesday, July 18 and check-out is 11:00am on Friday, July 21.

You will receive breakfast vouchers to the Blue Birch Restaurant (for use on Wednesday and Thursday) upon checking in to the hotel.

Friday Summit sessions will be held in the Lake of the Isles Conference Rooms 1-3 at the Marriott. Please bring your luggage with you to the Farewell Breakfast at 8:00am to avoid disrupting sessions. We will have a secure space to store it.

Optum headquarters

Wednesday and Thursday’s sessions will be held at the Optum Headquarters. An Optum badge is required for access to the building. Please do not forget to pack your badge. Katy Stupica will connect with those who submitted requests for new badges or guest access.

Conference Spaces
Wednesday and Thursday sessions will be held at the Optum headquarters in the West conference center rooms 4 and 5.

Optum HQ Fitness Center
The entrance to the Optum HQ Fitness center is located on floor 01. An Optum badge is required to enter the facilities. If you are on a guest badge, please speak to Katy Stupica or Breanna Koch to coordinate access.

Daily logistics, meals & activities

Tuesday, July 18 (Travel Day)

When traveling to/from the airport, you are encouraged to use Uber or Lyft. If possible, please try to rideshare with your peers.

Breakfast/Lunch: You may request reimbursement up to $25 on Tuesday for meals while traveling.

Dinner: Please plan to attend the Welcome Reception in the Marriott from 6:00-9:00pm CT. This event is designed to give you a chance catch up with your peers. Your Summit nametag and Optum meal vouchers will also be available for pick-up during this time. Please make it a priority to stop by, even if it is for a short time.

Wednesday, July 19

Breakfast: You have the option of eating breakfast at the Marriott’s Blue Birch Restaurant or in the cafeteria at the Optum headquarters. Marriott vouchers will be provided at check-in to the hotel, and Optum café vouchers will be provided when you pick-up your name badge during the Welcome Reception.

Please ensure an on-time arrival to Optum headquarters on Wednesday and Thursday morning. Campus Connections will be providing shuttles in 10 minute intervals. Each shuttle can only hold 10 people, so please do not procrastinate; plan to arrive to the Optum campus early to ensure a 10:00am start time.

Lunch: Attendees will be provided with a voucher to the Optum Cafeteria for lunch. Optum Cafeteria vouchers can be picked up at the Tuesday evening Welcome Reception from 6-9:00pm CT at the Marriott.

Dinner: Bring your appetite and competitive edge Wednesday night! Dinner (and light golf) will be hosted at TopGolf Minneapolis from 6-9:00pm.

After the close of Wednesday’s sessions, a charter bus will depart the Optum campus to take our group back to the Marriott. The bus will leave promptly at 4:15pm. The same bus will depart from the Marriott for TopGolf promptly at 5:15pm. Please do not be late.

Thursday, July 20

Breakfast: You have the option of eating breakfast at the Marriott’s Blue Birch Restaurant or in the cafeteria at the Optum headquarters. Marriott vouchers will be provided at check-in to the hotel, and Optum café vouchers will be provided when you pick-up your name badge during the Welcome Reception.

Dinner: Dinner will be held aboard the Paradise Destiny II as we sail around Lake Minnetonka on Thursday evening from 6:00-9:00pm.

After the close of Thursday’s sessions, a charter bus will depart the Optum campus to take our group back to the Marriott. The bus will leave promptly at 4:15pm. The same bus will depart from the Marriott to take us to the Paradise Destiny II promptly at 5:15pm. Please do not be late.

Friday, July 21

Breakfast: A Farewell Breakfast will kick off Friday’s sessions from 8:00-9:00am in a private Marriott conference space. All sessions will be held at the Marriott on Friday, to make it easier for you to depart for the airport.

Lunch/Dinner: You may request reimbursement up to $50 on Friday for meals while traveling.

Summit transportation

To/from the airport: You are encouraged to use Uber or Lyft. If possible, please try to rideshare with your peers.

To the Optum campus from the Marriott: You are responsible for ensuring an on-time arrival to Optum headquarters on Wednesday and Thursday morning. Campus Connections will be providing shuttles in 10 minute intervals. Each shuttle can only hold 10 people, so please do not procrastinate; plan to arrive to the Optum campus early to ensure a 10:00am start time.

If there is not a shuttle waiting for you at the Marriott, please call the shuttle line: 1-855-274-3348. When possible, please try to coordinate small groups for efficiency.

The shuttle will drop off attendees at the parking ramp entrance of the building (see map above).

To the Marriott from the Optum campus: After the close of Wednesday and Thursday’s sessions, a charter bus will depart the Optum campus to take our group back to the Marriott. The bus will leave promptly at 4:15pm.

To/from evening events: On Wednesday and Thursday evening, the charter buses will leave from the Marriott promptly at 5:15pm for the evening activities. Please do not be late.

Wellness activities

Wednesday and Thursday morning, sessions do not start until 10:00am. We invite you to join our team from the Optum HQ Fitness Center for optional morning wellness activities.
